History of Horological Illustration
Bob Frishman returns to MWA for a presentation on the history of horological illustration. This will be an updated and expanded version of the talk he gave at the start of the 2022 NAWCC symposium last October in New York City during a special program to honor the late John Redfern, one of the finest horological illustrators ever. More about Redfern is at https://redfernanimation.com. Bob provided an overview of the subject prior to Redfern’s modern computer-generated drawings and videos, looking back to the 18th century when Diderot and several horological authors included in their books many highly detailed engravings of clock and watch movements, tools, and hand-powered machines.
