Restoration of three 47 inch wooden tower clock dials on the South Kingstown, RI Town Hall
As part of Peter's clock restoration business in southern Rhode Island, he often takes on one or two public clock projects per year. These dials in the South Kingstown, RI Town Hall were in terrible condition, and restoring them was interesting in that it required skills in woodworking, painting, smalting, and gold leafing. Through photos and dialogue, Peter will take you through the process.

Peter Nunes began collecting antique clocks in 1964, as a fourth grader. He joined the NAWCC in 1971. After 33 years as a landscape contractor, he rented shop space and turned his long time avocation of clock restoration into a nearly full time business, specializing in early American and English clocks, as well as public clocks. He is a former chair of Chapter 8, as well as Cog Counters, and an NAWCC Fellow
